Cooking Class

This week our homeschool group had a real treat. A friend from church, Mrs. Susan, gave them a lesson in cooking. She taught them about the food pyramid, measurements, kitchen safety, and she even prepared them a cookbook with the recipes that they were using.

Here they are figuring out what they'll need to get started

First things first, dessert! They made their cookies first so that they could cool and harden while they cooked everything else. The little girls got to help spoon the cookies onto the wax paper.

Did you know that if you stick your tongue out while cutting an onion, your eyes won't water? Mrs. Susan is a wealth of knowledge!

Bailey says she wants to be a chef when she grows up!

Stirring the hamburger mixture

The finished meal--cheeseburger bacon bites, fruit salad, cheesy macaroni with steamed veggies, and cookies (not pictured) for dessert.

While the big kids were cooking, the little girls played and made a picture frame.

Everyone got to enjoy the delicious meal afterwards!
