Poplar Grove Plantation Field Trip

Today our homeschool group went to Poplar Grove Plantation. We learned a lot about living in the 1800s. We started with a hayride (without hay!)
The first stop on our hayride was to visit the animals.
Then he took us on a long ride through the woods.
We learned about basket weaving and what they used the various baskets for.
We learned how they make thread from wool and he showed us how to use a loom.
We also learned how they dye thread using plants and bugs.
We ended our trip with a picnic on the grounds.
