Our Easter Egg Hunt was today at the local arboretum. The arboretum is a beautiful (FREE!) place full of small themed gardens, a pond, and green houses. They welcome groups like ours to come and tour, picnic, or in our case, egg hunt. Mrs. Susan gave a lesson on why we celebrate Easter using the very cool ressurrection eggs. Each kid got a numbered egg to hold and when she called their number they went to the front and told what was in the egg. Mrs. Susan explained what each thing symbolized about Christ's death, burial, and ressurrection.
During the lesson, Mr. Jon, Miller, and another 6th grader hid the eggs for the younger kids.
Ready, set...GO!
Counting her eggs
Miller found a stick. He became Zoro.
I don't even think Miller realizes how much the younger kids look up to him.
Tricking the very large fish into thinking his stick was fish food.
