A Trip Down Memory Lane--Part 3

Our last stop was Aunt Ginger's house. She was my granddad's sister (my dad's dad). It was initially my granddad's parents house but when Aunt Ginger's husband died, she and her kids moved in with them. But I always knew it as Aunt Ginger's house. On the way to her house we stopped at a small graveyard and saw where my great-great grandfather is buried. He was a prisoner of war in New York during the Civil War and when he was released he walked all the way to North Carolina.
I remember family reunions here. There would be tables out on the dirt driveway filled with food and everyone sitting around the yard in chairs. The kids would play (we did a lot of playing on these tree roots) and go fishing at the pond down the path.
