Last Day of School and a Field Trip
Our last day of school was on May 30th. We ended a little later than originally planned. Here is a picture of the last day:
And for comparison, here is a picture of the first day of school:
Besides our first year of homeschooling, I'd have to say this was the most challenging year for me. I guess it was because I was teaching 3 for the first time. But we got through it and I'm looking forward to a better year next year.
We went on a field trip (on our last day) called Tarheels Go Walking. It was a walking tour of downtown Wilmington. Our first stop was at the fire station.
We learned about several old homes and churches along the way.
And even got a tour of Thalian Hall!
We learned some new things about our library. This book is in the NC History room and is over 100 years old!
And this is a painting in the downtown Post Office.
After the tour ended, the kids and I grabbed subs before the 9 block walk back to the van! It was a great field trip and a great way to end the school year!
