Carolina Beach State Park

Well hello there! It's been a while and I have some catching up to do! We've had a very busy, but fun, couple of months. I'll start with our field trip to Carolina Beach State Park. Can you believe after living here 17 years, we had never been there until about a month ago? We took a guided tour to see the carnivorous plants. What a fun, beautiful place! We will definitely go back again to hike some of the other trails. Getting ready to hit the trail; learning about the park maps
Pitcher Plant; our guide cut open a dried plant and showed us the leftover parts of what it had eaten (bug wings!)
More carnivorous plants; We learned that carnivorous plants only grow in our area and people actually steal them to sell!
This is one big slug!
