Co-op and Homeschool
We studied Astronomy this year in co-op so of course we had to take a field trip to the planetarium in Sunset Beach. We actually went twice, once with co-op and once with our homeschool friends at church. We saw different shows both times so that was good! Jay was able to go with us on one of our field trips. That was a nice treat.

The hurricane simulator was tons of fun!
We had an egg hunt with our co-op group. Bailey found the special egg! This group of young men have grown close this year and I'm so thankful for the friendships that have developed
in co-op.
Miller and Bailey had to make solar system models. Miller used food.
Bailey had to research a famous NC person and give a presentation in her history class. She was given Dolley Madison. She made a poster and "Dolley Madison" cookies.
We made constellations out of marshmallows and toothpicks in Madelyn's science class.

On our last day of co-op, we had a NC lunch (since we studied NC History). Everyone brought a dish that is specific to North Carolina. It was a fun way to end the year.
Co-op exceeded our expectations this year. I can't even begin to tell you how much of a blessing it was for our family. Not only did we make new friends and learn so much, the kids had some great opportunities that we don't normally have doing school at home. They had weekly assignments from someone other than mom, they had projects and presentations (even Madelyn had a few presentations that she had to get up in front of her class and speak--they all 3 did really well with that). I'm so proud of all 3 of my kids but I'm especially proud of Madelyn for overcoming her fears and getting up in class to speak and present assignments. We are looking forward to next year and all that we will experience with our co-op family.
