Our Weekend Adventures

Even though the weekend was cool and wet, we were able to fit in some fun, outside activities.  Jay had Friday off of work so he had a mechanics class with the kids (aka the truck needed some work and the kids helped).

Friday afternoon, between rain clouds, we went to Brunswick Nature Park.  Miller and Jay have been several times and they really enjoy the mountain bike paths.  We explored the walking trails.

Right after the above picture, we saw a family and they warned us that they saw a copperhead on the side of the trail up ahead of us.  Yikes!  We didn't see it, but it was a little unnerving to think we could have walked right past it and not even noticed.  Knowing there was one there made the walk a much different experience for us!

Here is the kayak dock.  I see another adventure in the future (for the boys anyway).

Last night Jay had a long run (he's training for a half marathon) so we went to a neighborhood down the road with a walking/running trail.  He ran, the kids biked/scootered, and I walked/ran.  It was a nice change of scenery.  The boys saw an alligator in one of the ponds but us girls missed it!
