Our Week in Pictures

My parents and sister came last Friday and we had fun eating out and shopping. We also walked around downtown, visited the Lynx ship that has been docked on the river, and had a fun little photo shoot with the girls.

Our garden: Lettuce, snow peas, tomato, and banana peppers

We added green beans, bell peppers, and squash this week.

We went to the beach today with friends. It was our first visit to the beach this spring and it was so nice to just sit and enjoy the breeze.

Gardening

We started our garden last week. We planted lettuce and snow peas. We are going to plant tomatoes, squash, green beans, and peppers in a few weeks. Everyone helped!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

I just love to watch the garden grow! I can see changes every day.

We planted snow peas, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, lettuce, spinach, squash, carrots, and banana peppers.

Hey There Little Red Riding Hood...

...You sure are looking good! While we were at mom and dad's house last weekend, Bailey played dress up in this dress that my mom made me when I was little. I wore it at school for a colonial times event but Bailey pretended to be Little Red Riding Hood.

Here is Bailey (aka Red) in the field of sunflowers at my parent's house

Milestones and much, much more

Madelyn is growing like a weed! Her little personality is really coming out and she's doing so many new things now. She says Mama and Dada, bye bye (and waves her hand), she's imitating our sounds and squeals to get our attention. When she's sitting she will kick her legs and scoot herself forward. She is also trying to crawl. She starts off like this...

then she goes to this position...

which quickly turns into this (notice the unhappy face)...

It won't be long and she'll be moving all over the house. We aren't sure we're ready for that yet! Miller and Bailey have already started enjoying the sprinkler and the water table (yes, it's been that warm!). If it weren't for the nasty biting knats, we'd spend more time outside.

I'm so proud of Miller. He has been testing at Leland Christian Academy this week and every morning he gets up with the alarm (with a great attitude) and gets himself ready for "school". He has really enjoyed the test as well as the free time afterward that he gets to play games and hang out with the boys in the class (it's only about 10-15 minutes that he gets to hang out before I get there to pick him up but he has enjoyed it). I did ask him if he'd rather be homeschooled or go to a school like LCA and he said he'd rather be homeschooled. That made my day!

Bailey, Madelyn and I have been spending our mornings taking walks, scrapbooking, and swinging. I think Bailey has enjoyed the one on one time but she told me the first day "Mommy, it's just not the same without Miller here. I miss him already."

Our flowers are growing! We planted some sunflower seeds (and some others too but the sunflowers are the only ones coming up so far)

and our squash plant is looking good too

I love this time of year, when the grass turns green and the flowers are growing and blooming! I am enjoying watering my plants and we love to watch the birds in our yard. We are working on our front flower bed and plan to plant some azalea bushes this weekend (hopefully).
